Clancy Potato (F1 Hybrid 90 Days)

PLANTING

Solanum tuberosum

Germination: 7-14 days

Germination Temperature: Optimum soil temperatures 70-75ºF.

Seed Sowing Depth: 1/4” deep

Starting Indoors:6-8 weeks before transplanting out in spring (depends on your potato planting date). In mild climates (Zones 8-10), start seeds for a fall crop in midsummer. Sow 1-2 seeds per cell/pot. Thin to the strongest seedling. Transplant 24-36” apart

Sowing Outdoors: Not recommended

How much does a packet plant: 20-30 foot single row

Harvest: For fresh "new potatoes", harvest when they reach ¾”-1” in diameter for best flavor and texture. For storage potatoes, harvest about 3 weeks after foliage has died back; this allows the skins to toughen and prevents drying out. Storage potatoes should be left unwashed in a dry, well-ventilated area for 2-3 days to cure.

Tips: Needs fertile, well-drained soil, Keep well-watered for the highest yields,  mulching will help retain moisture. Mounding soil around plants a few times during the growing season will increase potato yield.
