Flat Leaf Parsley

Petroselinum crispum var. neapolitanum

Also called Italian parsley, its uses are similar to the curly variety but the flavor is a bit stronger. Plants are 1 foot tall and produce sprigs of large, flat leaves all season. Preferred in Italian cooking.

PLANTING

Biennial 

Germination:  7-21 days

Seed Planting Depth: 1/4" deep, soaking seeds overnight aids germination

Starting Indoors/Outdoors:  Start indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost. Provide 70-75 degree soil temperatures. Transplant 12-15" apart. Sow outdoors in spring after last frost. Sow a few seeds every 4-6 ", thin to 12-15" apart. 

Light Needs:  Sun

Soil Needs:Average to fertile, moist

Uses: Medicinal, culinary, attracts bees and benefical
