Globemaster Allium is an ornamental onion of enormous proportions! The perfectly shaped amethyst spheres measure 8-10" in diameter and add a tremendous visual impact to the garden. For the most eye-catching displays, group the bulbs together among low-growing perennials. Blooms in early summer.

PLANTING GUIDE      

Allium giganteum

Perennial, zones 5-10

Bulb Planting Depth: 6-8”

Height: 36-40

Spacing:  1 bulb per square foot, 8-12” apart

Light Needs: Full sun 

Soil Needs:  Average to Fertile, well-drained

Bloom Time:  Early summer

Uses:  Flower beds, containers, borders, background plant, cut flowers, attracts pollinators, deer resistant 

Care: Amend soil with compost before planting bulbs. Feed with a granular flower bulb fertilizer at planting time and/or in the spring when the leaves emerge. Leaves wither and die as they bloom. Will produce small bulbs, “offsets” that can be divided from the main bulb and transplanted after a few growing seasons.
