Mentha piperita

Ah mint! The attractive 3 foot plants perfume the air. Covered with 3”, lance shaped leaves of wrinkled texture, bearing pink to white blooms on the terminal spikes throughout the summer. Easy to grow, dependable and used in jellies, sauces, and  herbal remedies. Can be a bit invasive but a pot or small planting is an essential ingredient of any herb garden.

Starting Indoors/Outdoors:  Start indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost. Provide 60-70 degree soil temperatures. Transplant 12-15" apart. 

Light Needs:  Full sun to light shade

Soil Needs:  Rich, moist, and well drained
