Jewels of Opar

Old-fashion garden plant with eye-catching mounds of chartreuse-colored succulent leaves and sprays of delicate, pink flowers that turn into shiny jewel-like beads. Flower panicles are ideal as fresh or dried cut flowers, filling out bouquets. As an added bonus, the thick leaves are edible with a mild, tender texture the entire season. Works well in containers, hanging baskets, and in the garden. Also known as Fame Flower. Grows to 30”.

Germination:5-10 days

Germination Temperature:Optimum soil temperatures 65-75ºF

Seed Planting Depth: Sow on the surface and press into soil, seeds need light to germinate

Starting Indoors:  Start indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost. Provide 65-75ºF soil temperature for germination. Transplant 6-12” apart after the last frost. 

Sowing Outdoors:Direct sow after last frost and only in areas with a long growing season. Sow a few seeds every 2” apart, thin 6-12”.
