Canterbury Bells

This biennial grows to a height of 2-3 feet. Blooms are 2" double bells that look like cups and saucers and come in shades of white, pink, blue, and lavender.

Germination:7-21 days

Germination Temperature:Optimum soil temperatures 70-75ºF

Seed Planting Depth: Sow on the surface and press into soil, seeds need light to germinate.

Starting Indoors: Start indoors 8-10 weeks before the last frost. Provide70-75ºF soil temperature for germination. Transplant after the last frost, 15-20” apart

Sowing Outdoors: Direct sow late spring into early summer or in the fall. Sow 3-4 seeds 15-20” apart.

Light Needs: Full sun to part sun

Soil Needs:Fertile, moist well-drained 

Approximate days to flower from seed: Blooms in the second

Uses: Flower beds, cottage gardens, cut flowers, deer resistant, attracts pollinators 

Care: Water seedlings regularly until established.Amend soil with compost before transplanting. Deadhead to prolong blooming. May require staking for support. Cut back after flowering if you don’t want it to self-seed
