Lemon Grass

Cymbopogon flexuosus

East India lemon grass, native to India, Burma, and Thailand. This fragrant grass is the one most often used in perfumes but it is also good for flavoring food. We like to plant it in a flower bed and have even placed it in a large container, mixed with flowers and herbs. The plants grow to 3 feet in height. Has a natural germination around 40-50 percent.

Seed Planting Depth: On surface, press into soil. 

Starting Indoors/Outdoors:  Start indoors 6-12 weeks before last frost. Provide 65-70 degree soil temperatures. Transplant 18-24" apart.

Soil Needs:  Average

Uses:  Medicinal, culinary, ornamental
